D&G goes denim!

Dolce & Gabbana's Spring/Summer 2010 menswear catwalk collection was not only about strong suiting this time. There was denim, lots of denim! Distressed, torn, ripped and decorated denim. Standoud piece was the really heavily beaded suit jacket!

William Rast Fall '09

Last night was the launch of the long awaited William Rast collection by Justin Timberlake at Selfridges in London. Timberlake is one of the four creative talents behind this label, along with his best friend from school days Trace Ayala and Swedish designer Johan Lindeberg and his italian wife Marcella. The label has an edgy, rock 'n' roll vibe, with hints of biker and cowboy. Looks good to me!

Madonna for LV (again)

Here is one leaked picture of the Fall 2009 Louis Vuitton campaign with, again, Madonna. A lot of comments are floating on the internet, like ' she looks like a marble statue' or 'the retoucher might deserve more recognition than the photographer'. I must say, she looks rather good for a 50 year old.....

Charlie's Angels

We all remember the television serie Charlie's Angels, three women working for a private investigation agency. It was one of the most successful series back in the 70's. The Angels were of course beautiful women and solved all kinds of problems wearing fashionable clothes and jeans at that time, wonderful! Jill Monroe was played by Farrah Fawcett and sadly she passed away last week. So here two photos just to remember her......

Optimistic in Paris

It's Men's Fashion Week in Paris again, for the spring/summer 2010 collection. The atmosphere is optimistic, menswear has been faring particularly well for the past few years and despite of the economic crisis, the confidence is back! Speaking of crisis, is that Carine Roitfeld waiting, wearing the same jeans skirt as she did 2 seasons ago? Way to go Carine, a classic jeans skirt is timeless!

My very fashionable & best friend drawed my attention to sequin tops. Of course we already saw a few designers with sequin items in their collection this summer. But to wear a shiny piece of garment with your daily outfit is another story. Apparently the stylish Italian women do it, so why shouldn't we be more easy in wearing it as well? Let's go shiny!

White blouse

Let's talk about the white blouse, a crisp cool white blouse. There are so many styles. Some are more tailored, with button down construction, others are loose fit in a nice cotton, maybe even embroidered. There should be a good white blouse in every womans closet. So, how come that I still haven't found the right one.....

American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour allowed director RJ Cutler to film what really happens at the world's top fashion magazine. The documentary is called 'The September Issue' and we see the preparations of the september 2007 Vogue issue. Every fashionista should watch this film! In the Dutch 'filmhuizen' from september 3.

She is an actress and former model. Nowadays she is a style advisor for Elle UK as well. But most of all Fashionista Sevigny has got her very own style. She looks good on the cover of Elle, but in some cutoff Levi's she looks amazing too!

Kopenhagen. About 2 years ago me and my friend Dési had a drink and a nice meal in the restaurant you see on the right. It was our first night there and only a 5 min walk from our hotel. This week new episodes of Gossip Girl started on Dutch television. The only reason to watch this American serie is Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) and this month he appears in GQ with a very nice fashion shoot. Here he is wearing a Dolce & Gabbana jeans. Not bad for an actor...

It's always good news when there's a launch of a brand new jeanslabel on the Dutch market! Milk & Roses is a new Dutch/Italian denim brand which had their introduction event 2 days ago in a 'loods' in Amsterdam. The brand represents the best of two worlds: Italian lifestyle & design combined with Dutch marketing & logistics. The first collection with basic vintage jeans will be out next spring. Jimmy Choo for H&M

This winter H&M will be able to offer top end designer shoes and bags. Jimmy Choo, the British shoe designer, has been asked to design shoes, bags, accessories and also a range of clothing for the high street giant. The collection will arrive in selected H&M stores only on November 14. Now we can all 'walk' like Carrie Bradshaw!

CFDA, the Oscars of fashion

CFDA stands for Council of Fashion Designers of America. Every year they have nominations for several categories submitted by select fashion retailers, press, stylists and of course the CFDA board of directors. President of CFDA is Diane von Furstenberg and the famous gala was last night.
