Milan Fashion Week.....New Face
For some reason I didn't pay any attention to the London Fashion Week last week, I don't know why.... I did watch the livestream of the Acne's SS 2011 salon show which took place in Kensington Palace and that show was amazing! And of course we all heard about the wonderful Burberry show in London yesterday...and that the finale model took a tumble on the runway right before she made it backstage! Yesterday the Milan Fashion Week started and besides that everybody was talking about the luxurious Gucci show there was one other 'thing' that drew everybody's attention: new Dutch model Daphne Groeneveld. This 16-year old girl with the pouting lips is now popping up everywhere. On this first day of Milans Fashion Week she walked the Gucci show and right after she walked out of that show there were camera's everywhere! Watch this! She's hitting the fashion scene, that's for sure! With thanks to Team Peter Stigter.

Two friends.....Streetstyle
Twice a year I have a girls dinner with eight of my dearest friends. Today we went to Amsterdam where we started of with a little boat trip through the canals. The sun was shining and with delicious sushi and a glass of Prosecco we had nothing to complain about... After that we had a lovely dinner at one of my friends house and trust me...she can cook! We always have so much fun and talk about the early days a lot of course. Evenings like this are unforgettable and always reminds me to cherish my dear friends and their friendship!
Here a streetstyle photo of two of my dear friends who were wearing accidentally the same clothing style today. But they didn't care...that's what friends are for! By the way, I love those army pants and biker boots! Well done girls!

NYFW.....Derek Lam

American fashion designer Derek Lam showed a beautiful, minimalistic with a soft silhouette SS 20111 collection yesterday at the NYFW. He had promised the press minimalism and he delivered. Personally I really liked his fluid denim coats, suits, trousers and shirts, but he also had amazing ready-to-wear A-line skirts, slim legs and trenches. The colors were white, black or earthy! And with the wooden wedges the whole collection looked extremely modern!

NYFW.....Alexander Wang

In case some of you didn't know, New York Fashion Week has started! A few designers showed their SS 2011 collection already and among them was the great 'everybody loves him' Alexander Wang. Wang's collection embodies casual cool downtown style and I must say I always like the way he is able to innovate common styles into a totally new look (like he did with the fabric sweat last season). Last night I had a dinner party at my place and everybody left just in time (sorry guys...) for me to watch Wang's SS 210 catwalk show with live stream on mbfashionweek.com. At the same time I kept my eye on my timeline on Twitter of course, which is very interesting to read during any fashion show. So here are two interesting tweets from creative director of ELLE Magazine Joe Zee who sat frontrow yesterday: 'Gorgeous floaty coats and dresses, straps on everything, layered textures, white on white, cream on cream, shiny metallics at Alex Wang!' and 'Everything is feeling a bit 90's with the longer, looser silhouettes, a bit influenced from the Belgians of that time #NYFW'. And with these two tweets he has said it all! Photos from Twitter.

Lanvin for H&M!
Lanvin is one of the most influential brands at the moment. Alber Elbaz joined Lanvin as artistic director in 2001 and he has transformed this Paris-based label into a fashion powerhouse. In 2006 Elbaz also introduced a new Lanvin menswear line, designed by our own Dutch Lucas Ossendrijver. So, the collection, both womenswear and menswear, will go on sale on 23 November 2010 in around 200 H&M stores worldwide.
