Happy New Year!

It's almost the end of the year and I must say, 2011 did go fast. Very fast. But hey, time flies when you're having fun and are doing the things you like doing. No, you will definitely not hear me complaining. Let's hope 2012 will be as exciting as 2011. For all of you! Happy & healthy 2012!

Laura is hot

'Laura is hot, Doutzen is not'. Newbie girl Dutch-born Laura is featured in the Balenciaga SS 2012 campaign photographed by Steven Meisel and she was voted as one of the top ten newcomers. This is one of her first major campaigns after walking for Balenciaga in their AW 2011 and SS 2012 catwalkshows. Let's keep an eye on this girl. Oh, and next spring, messy hair required! ;)

NSF jeans

Even fellow blogger Fashionminded was impressed about the (mens) collection of this new Californian denim label NSF. And so am I about the 2012 women's collection. This relaxed boyfriend has got an amazing wash. Not available in the Netherlands. Not yet. Fashionminded and I will keep you posted. Of course.

A.P.C. - minimalistic chic

A.P.C. is minimalistic chic. And sometimes slightly boring. But, however, it must be said, they use fine fabrics (especially wool) and the clothing is constructed well. Personally I like their fitted knitwear the best - as the knitted sweater above. I tried one on several times, didn't buy it though, don't know why, but I do like 'their Parisian touch'.

Update: saw this really nice A.P.C. anthracite knitted sweater at Zolamanola (Utrecht) this afternoon and guess what? I bought it! ;)

Italian Cycle

To tell the truth, it was my friend Desi who - years ago - drawed my attention to the Italian jeanslabel Cycle. She has been living in Italy for many years and and she happens to know the right fashion people over there. So I guess she was one of the first Dutch girls wearing Cycle jeans. Lucky her. The same can be said about Golden Goose, another Italian brand which is becoming quite popular over here at the moment, but again, my friend was wearing it years ago already.... How convenient to have a friend with a real good taste in fashion.

R13 was launched in the fall of 2009 in New York City and their jeans are made from Italian denim. They use a rugged but thin denim with just enough stretch to make their jeans feel very comfortable. How nice. And R13 turns out to be very strong at redesigning classic fits. For example, a baggy fit becomes a slouchy skinny fit and their skinny jeans is very relaxed...love this fit! How tempting. With special thanks to Denimology. You can buy R13 (only) at the recently opened shop 66 AVENUE in Amsterdam.

Garance in jeans

There are a few advantages of being the girlfriend of one of the best streetstyle photographers in the world. Really love this picture; the colours, the leather jacket, the baggy jeans short...ah well, Garance is just a very lucky woman! Photo by the Sartorialist.

Caroline Issa

Caroline Issa, owner of Tank magazine, looks impeccable in her long Givenchy dress outside the V&R show during Paris Fashion Week. Must say, she always wears a number of great outfits during the fashion weeks. Photo by JeansStyle.

My favourite bracelet at the moment is this leather so called Rainbow bracelet from Antonio Ben Chimol. It's made of genuine Italian leather and it comes with a gold or silver plated magnetic clasp. Check out Antonio's site for even more designs. Or, if you are in the neighbourhood of Bussum stop by the shop Fou de Foot where you can buy the most beautiful shoes as well.

Étoile Isabel Marant SS2012

Parisian designer Isabel Marant launched her second line, Étoile Isabel Marant, in 2000. To be honest, I can't see the difference between the two lines, but then again, who cares? Marant has got an unbeatable recipe and her signature cool-girl style is still very loved by everybody. And knitwear is still going strong next spring....I like!

Giovanna in vintage YSL

As a streetstyle favorite stylist Giovanna Battaglia knows how to wear the basics and this is not just a basic, it's an iconic vintage YSL tunic. Nice! Photo from Easy Fashion Paris.

Cool sweater

A basic sweater is still one of my favourite garments; comfortable and cool. Jane Keltner de Valle, Fashion News Director of Teen Vogue, wears her Jason Wu sweater sporty chic on a Junya Watanabe leather skirt. Photo by Jeansstyle.

Apart from their biannual collections, Givenchy releases special series of T-Shirts as well. Although a few series - with the Rottweiler prints - were rather predictable, I do like the ones with the religious prints, like this one above. Photo by Jeansstyle.

One in one out

What's up with tucking in just one part of the blouse? I do like wearing blouses at the moment, but I'm not sure about this trend.... What do you think?

Giovanna Battaglia in vintage pants

Giovanna Battaglia is a former model, a fashion editor and a freelance stylist and unlike most of the people in fashion world, she repeatedly wears the same pieces on numerous occasions. She wore these yellow pants 3 years ago, also during PFW and I photographed her in it about a week ago outside the V&R show at Tuileries Gardens. That's what fashion is all about, mixing with labels and mixing vintage with new stuff as well. I like! Photo by Jeansstyle.

Tamu McPherson

I like to see blogger and photographer Tamu do her thing outside the fashion shows. She really seems to know everybody, chats to everybody and of course she takes beautiful streetstyle pics. Check out her blog All the pretty birds here. Photo by Jeansstyle.

Meet the lovely Elisa Nalin. She's an Italian stylist based in Paris and as you can see, she's also the Queen of mixing colors. I like! Photos by Jeansstyle.

Isabel Marant sneakers

Last friday outside the Isabel Marant show, the famous Marant sneaker with the build-in wedges was - to say the least - very popular... Oh well, a shoe that looks like a sneaker but still lengthen the leg is of course a win-win combination. Photo by Jeansstyle.

Garance Doré

It's always so nice to spot Garance Doré outside one of the shows! This time it looked as if she secretely tried to sneak into the Isabel Marant show, but naturally she couldn't pass by unnoticed. Photo by Jeansstyle.

LFW | Garance Doré

Lovely streetstyle pic of Garance Doré at London Fashion Week last week. I like her 'Paul Smith' look, with the tailored skirt en masculine brogues. Very English Garance, well done! Photo by Team Peter Stigter.

NYFW | 3.1 Phillip Lim spring 2012

According to a post on The Sartorialist this jacket is a great DIY...I was bit surprised to read this on Mr. Schuman's blog and in a way he's got a point, but we also have to respect the ideas of a brand new collection and I'm not sure if Phillip Lim will be amused by this remarque. Anyway, Phillip Lim told Style.com that his collection was inspired by his own childhood. 'I'm a child of the nineties', he said. 'Your references are what you grew up with.' I quite like his interpretation of a new nostalgia!

NYFW | Streetstyle

Apparently the weather is great in New York and hopefully the shows are too. I'm looking forward to see the photo's from Victoria Beckham's spring 2012 catwalk show which is going to start in about one hour! I will keep you updated...
