Mix & match

If you want to know the trends that will come then just have a good look at the Paris streetstyle. During Fashion Week that is. And it must be nice weather.
Wether this outfit is going to be a trend...I'm not sure. The reason I have placed this Paris streetstyle pic anyway is because the longer you look, the more styles you discover. And strangely it all fits together. Enjoy!

Arrivederci Milan

The fashion pack left Italy as we speak, so we say arrivederci in a dignified way with different shades of gray. The fashion story continues...in Paris.

First look

It seems Isabel Marant herself admits that the sneaker wedge is over. After introducing this sneaker in 2012, the chic streetstyle was an instant hit, being knocked-off by everyone from Steve Madden to Nike. "I don't wear them as often as I used to because I see too many bad copies in the street," Marant told WWD.
Well planned this remark because in a few months time Marant is going to introduce her newest sneaker version, a sleeker more flattering silhouette in white, black, luxe leopard and pony skin. The new style is definitely appealing. Or is it just a bad copy of the Adidas Stan Smith? Let's ask during her next interview shall we?

Nike headband

Remember the white Nike ankle socks with high heels combination last year? In my humble opinion clearly a case of a fashion fail. And what a surprise, this time it's the black Nike headband that is trying to set a trend... Inspiration or absolutely a no go?

Back to the sixties

Fashion Week continues and we move on to Milan. And go back to the sixties. With Gucci. I have to say, I'm not a Gucci fan but their Fall 2014 collection immediately made an impression on me. Could be the poppy pastels like baby blue, sage green and mustardy yellow but I rather like to think it was the presence of a blue jeans (yes, there were real Gucci jeans!). Anyway, it's a like and so was Frida Giannini's outfit.

It seems as if the slip-on sneaker trend is starting to become a bit of a micro-trend (trend within a trend). The slip-on silhouette isn't really new, it's long been favored by skateboarders and pretty much everyone in the 90's. But since last year this trend seems to be embraced by the fashion crowd. It was Céline who came with a fashionable version in her S/S 2013 collection, followed by Givenchy and many other highstreet brands. And of course we are all familiar with the old school classic Vans slip-ons, right?

Well, I must say the iconic Vans have been really updated and I found you a nice pair from Dune as well (also available at the Bijenkorf). You like?

London is calling

London Fashion Week is now underway and so the international fashion-pack have swapped the snow storms of New York into windy and stormy weather in London. How glamorous.
Of course there were a few dry moments, so enjoy the British streetstyle scene.

In case you missed out, not only did Marc Jacobs leave Louis Vuitton last year but he also appointed a new design duo to his brand Marc by Marc Jacobs. British fashion designers Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley are now creative director and head designer and yesterday they presented their first Marc by Marc Jacobs fall 2014 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York. Oh and another thing, from now on the brand is called MBMJ. Just so you know.

Anyway, the collection was well received and Marc Jacobs who sat frontrow gave his design duo a standing ovation.

Isabel Marant Sunglasses

Isabel Marant is going to launch her first sunglasses collection in collaboration with Oliver Peoples. The collection combines California cool with Parisian chic resulting in two styles, Matt and Daria, in pretty pastel colorways. The sunglasses will hit selected stores worldwide later this month. She and her Stans

Trend alert! The Adidas Stan Smith shoes are officially back in  business. After their release in stores and online last month, we are already noticing lots of Instagram-ers hopping around on it during Mercedes-Benze Fashion Week. So yes, the white tennis sneaker is making a fashionable comeback and this time around in an iconic way.

Rag & Bone Fall 2014

This time last year I visited the Rag & Bone store in Mercer Street, New York and I was really impressed by the easy-going designs. It's undoubtedly one of the coolest brands of the moment. Both designers Marcus Wainwright & David Neville have a simple vision - to create clothes that they and their friends would love to wear every day.
At Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week everyone was talking about their personalized bomber jackets for Fall 2014 but naturally the rest of the collection was impressive as well. We didn't expect anything less. Check the newest Rag & Bone collection here

Baby it's Cold Outside

Day 4 of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is winding down already and it's still super-chilly in New York. Despite of concerns about the weather tens of thousands visitors are staying in a snowy Manhattan anyway to set eyes on the Fall 2014 collections. Beside the large number of shows there's another can't-miss show going on outside the venues: the streetstyle parade. Enjoy!

Swedish Streetstyle

It seemed temperatures were freezing in Stockholm last week, so that does not sound fashion-friendly at all. But of course Fashion Week managed to heat up the place. So enjoy the Swedish streetstyle looks, including Pharrell Williams' Vivienne Westwood Mountain hat and the latest Adidas Stan Smith launch. Fashionable folks up north!
