Vintage COH

Denim brand Citizens of Humanity is not only about craftmanship and quality, but about people who share the love and passion for denim. Well, nicely said but this applies to any denim brand nowadays...
But that doesn't mean that their premium vintage line looks great. To say the least. Inspired by their own vintage archives they came up with an exceptional collection showcasing selvage and non-selvage fabrics used with specialized washes and various styles. Shop the collection here

The Girlfriend

The oh so popular boyfriend jeans seems to be getting a new friend this season...the girlfriend jeans. It's still a quite baggy look, but with a more sleeker and feminine cut. You still follow me?
Anyway, Acne calls The Betty the anti-fit which is actually the correct term for a low on the hip jeans with a cropped leg and a kick flare.

The Return of Stan

Adidas brought back their famous Stan Smith shoe. The iconic sneaker is now available in array of new vibrant coloured heel tabs while its white body and instantly recognisable design has remained unchanged. And yes, they're were spotted in the streets during Paris Fashion Week already!

Adidas is promoting the relaunch with a video which features Stan Smith himself, a few celebrities and tennis player Andy Murray. Check the video here

Oversized scarf

It seems as if the houndstooth trend is back in business. As we still can leave our homes without wearing a snow jacket, an oversized scarf seems the perfect accessory to brave the winter weather in paired with a chunky knit or leather jacket. And for me it doesn't have to be this houndstooth design, any oversized plaid to bundle up in will do.

Milan streetstyle

Men's Fashion Week in Milan is in full swing. What will your man be wearing next winter? Well certainly not the knitted shorts and tights Emporio Armani was showing on the catwalk yesterday.
Anyway, there's always a lot going on outside of the shows as well; editors, buyers, writers and bloggers come to Milan to check out the the fall 2014 collections. And as everyone knows, you have to come dressed in your best sh*t if you have any hopes to get snapped by streetstyle photographers.

A view of my favorites.

Rule the universe

Came across this editorial in the Dutch Glamour called Big Bang filled with futuristic outfits. Normally not really my cup of tea but I do love the sweater with the simple thunderbolt from the Hans Ubbink spring/summer 2014 collection (available in their webshop soon). Rule the universe!

Hidden denim

Apparently layering your denim jacket under a jacket or coat is a great way to work the iconic piece into your wardrobe all year around. For an unexpected twist to an otherwise tailored look or of course when temperature is falling. Whenever that may be.

Closed spring 2014

Closed is well known for its iconic denims and their Pedal Star jeans is still one of my personal favorites. The Closed collections are always cool and elegant combined with a high attention to detail. Their new spring/summer 2014 campaign is very promising. Again.

Pitti Uomo 2014

What exactly is Pitti Uomo? Pitti Uomo is a tradeshow in Florence, Italy. Aside being a destination to get snapped by streetstyle photographers it's a place of doing business too, where retailers, buyers and editors come together to view upcoming mens collections, in this case Fall 2014.

Trying to find some new-made Pitti streetstyle pics, I accidentally came across this Australian streetstyle photograper mister Lee Oliveira. His photos are some how very refreshing. Go check his blog here.

Try grey

It looks like grey is very hard trying to be the new black. Not only did a handful of designers send every shade of grey down the runway for fall, the tonal trend can replace black as an unexpected neutral. Get your outfit through the last period of winter by going grey!

Spotted: long shirt

I just got back from a three days trip to Paris. Although it was all about museums and the touristic trail this time (went with my eldest son) I did notice a streetstyle trend which I found a bit striking. To say the least.
It was like a walk down memory lane as I saw this long shirts with cropped sweaters passing by. Believe it or not, but it was one of my favorite outfits in the early nineties...Time flies huh?
Couldn't really find a suitable streetstyle pic on the internet, but you have to take my word for it, the revival of the long shirt is on the way.

Spotted: silk scarf

So if there's one item you can purchase right now to renew your current outfit it's the (silk) neck scarf. It is Marc Jacobs who takes the typically girlish scarf to a whole new level by tying it around the neck preferably with a knot. Bad hair day? Just tuck your hair into the scarf and voilà, all set for spring 2014!
